Warehouse Control System (WCS)

The Warehouse Control System (WCS) facilitates the seamless coordination of various warehouse devices and subsystems to complete warehouse operations efficiently. WCS receives operational tasks from the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and sends detailed instructions to automated devices. When WMS issues a task, WCS breaks it down into multiple steps and controls each device and subsystem to cooperate in completing the task. Typically, WMS issues tasks based on production or shipping schedules, and WCS receives these tasks in batches. The WCS task engine splits the tasks into numerous sub-tasks, and once a sub-task meets the execution criteria, WCS controls the relevant equipment or subsystem to complete the action. This enables parallel task execution, allowing WCS to manage all equipment simultaneously, reducing labor and maximizing warehouse operational efficiency. WCS also monitors the operational status of all devices in the warehouse, facilitating management and maintenance while providing valuable insights for warehouse optimization and upgrades.
